Taylor, the photographer behind Milk & Peonies

I got to reconnect with Taylor Marie of Milk & Peonies, a luxury photography business located in Southern Oregon. Though a skilled well-rounded photographer, Taylor has carved out a unique niche in providing boudoir and milk bath photoshoots that are truly special experiences. I had the pleasure of working with Taylor on her logo design. Read on to learn more about her brand and collaborating on her logo concepts.

1. Tell me about your brand and what you offer through Milk + Peonies. I am a luxury photographer and I offer custom milk baths, full service boudoir and embodiment sessions, branding sessions, event coverage, I travel, etc. My niche is dynamic and I do so much! I can do natural light and artificial with flash etc.I have my own studio in downtown Medford and enjoy shooting outside in that juicy golden hour light as well. I love connecting and creating with others as there is no feeling quite like it. 2. How does your luxe photography brand stand out from the rest? I feel my brand stands out from the rest as there's nothing quite like it in the valley here. My goal was to be different and stand out and I definitely do! From the story behind the business name to my original passion of milk baths to the sexy logo we created together it definitely always raises some eyebrows.

3. What was the design process like in creating your logo with Nina? I was unsure of what I wanted as I was brand new in creating my business and this was my first logo. Nina was great at managing my expectations and communicating what she could and could not do as well as what was possible with my dreamy mind. She made me feel like I was in good hands as the process unfolded with every step. She handled my indecision well with patience and was willing to even scrap it and start again if needed. I am so happy with my design that it truly conveyed my end goal of luxury. She even helped me load my cart at Moo.com to order my cards to make sure my design was perfect. Now, every time I hand out a business card I always get a "Wow!" or "Woah, these are nice!" and they stop and touch and feel it. Really proud of what we created together.

"She made me feel like I was in good hands as the process unfolded with every step."

4. What do you want to communicate about your brand through your logo and brand imagery?

I wanted to communicate luxury and class.

5. What does the peony symbolize to you? The peony is a symbol of beauty and femininity. I wanted the flower to be blooming and have a circular element to it to continue with the feminine vibe to fully represent me and my work. Not to mention they smell amazing! In the Japanese culture it is a sign of longevity. If taken care of properly a plant can bloom for up to 100 years! 6. How has your community responded to your brand image and logo? Everyone has loved it! I got a lot of impressed feedback from my peers and friends and it continues every time I hand out my cards to a new person.

7. Where can we find your work and information about your services?
